Cookie policy

The short version: this website sets one small cookie, and only when you use the light or dark switch. Nothing for tracking, advertising, or measuring visits.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small note a website asks your browser to keep, so the site can recognize you next time — to keep you signed in, remember a shopping cart, or follow what you look at across the web. Some are useful, some are for advertising. This site uses just one useful one: it remembers whether you chose light or dark.

What this site stores in your browser

One thing, and only if you use it: your light or dark mode choice.

  • It's kept in a small cookie called "pluma_theme", with the value "light" or "dark", and in your browser's own storage under the name "pluma-theme".
  • The cookie is shared with the Pluma dashboard (app.pluma.website), so both open in the mode you chose. Because it is set for pluma.website and every address ending in .pluma.website, your browser also sends it to the websites Pluma hosts for its customers at those addresses. It only says light or dark, so it tells them nothing about you. We use it only to show light or dark; we don't record it, and it isn't passed to anyone else.
  • The cookie lasts one year. Switching the theme again replaces it, and clearing your browser's cookies and site data removes it completely.

If you never touch the theme switch, here or in the dashboard, nothing is stored at all.

Fonts

The lettering on this site comes from Pluma's own servers, so fetching it involves no other company and no cookies.

Why there's no cookie banner

Banners exist to ask your permission for cookies that aren't strictly needed. The only cookie here is set only when you press the light or dark switch. It holds just "light" or "dark", isn't linked to you, your account or anything else, and is used for nothing but showing the theme you picked. US law doesn't ask for a banner for a cookie like this. For visitors from the EU and the UK, a cookie that only remembers a display choice you asked for is "strictly necessary" for the service you requested, which their cookie rules (the ePrivacy Directive, Article 5(3), and the UK's PECR) exempt from asking permission, so it doesn't need a banner there either. We still explain it here, so you know exactly what it is.

If that ever changes

If we ever want to measure how the site is used, we'll prefer a tool that works without cookies. If something genuinely needs another cookie, we'll update this page, say exactly what the cookie is for, and ask you before setting it — not just tell you afterward.

Managing cookies in your browser

Every browser lets you see, block, and delete cookies and site data — usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking cookies won't break anything on this site; your theme choice just won't carry over to the Pluma dashboard. Clearing site data will reset your theme choice to follow your device's setting.

Changes to this policy

If what the site stores changes, this page changes with it, along with the date at the top.
